6 Months and 1 Day Ago

I've been feeling guilty all weekend for not posting, but I couldn't think of anything to write that wasn't incredibly depressing or negative. Yesterday was the 6 month mark since Matt's accident. Tonight I found myself browsing through old photos and I thought I'd post some favorites from back when we were just a normal family.

Hunter's 3rd birthday, the boys were just being goofy boys:

My little couch potatoes. The family that plays video games together...(I don't have an ending for that.)

Pictures of Matt and me together are rare. How sad is that? (Right now go make an appointment to have pictures taken of you and your spouse. I'm serious.) Remember the lyrics I posted a little while ago, The Prayer of A Common Man, by Phil Vassar? Well, meet Phil Vassar. Funny story: Phil has been a favorite of mine for quite sometime. (That's his tour bus we're hanging out on.) Last summer he got divorced. When I told Matt, he said "You're leaving me for Phil Vassar aren't you?" He does play a mean piano...

Though they're on regular film, we have tons of pictures of Brigham and Matt together when Brigham was little. For some reason we don't have as many of Hunter and Matt, so I really appreciate the ones we do have. In case you can't tell, they are playing the piano together. I especially love this one for the sweet expression on Matt's face. That's a guy who loves his kids.

While I wish there were more, especially of Matt and me, what a blessing it is to have pictures to illustrate moments in life we would otherwise forget.

I have been thinking about you a lot lately! I have always taken way too many pictures, just in case. This past October right before Daniel left I had pictures of just the two of us taken, because you never know. My heart aches for your boys, boys just need a daddy! I am so thankful for the church and the knowledge I have of where Matt is, and that you are sealed to him with your boys, and you will spend eternity with him. The hard part is getting there, you have a life time to fill with many joyous occasions! You have the hardest job of raising three boys to be just like their daddy. Matt made huge impressions on many, and so will your boys! We love you and I wish we could be there to help you through all of this! We are trying to have a get together out here in Jan for when Daniel comes home, I would love for you to come out here too! Let me know if you want to visit!

I have just started looking into photographers because although we have a decent amount of normal pics, I would like some professional ones other than our wedding day. Great idea!

This just made me so sad for you. Those are so precious.
I have only two pictures of Neil and I together: a snapshot at our wedding (we did not have a photographer)and one at a ballgame last fall. We need to take more.

Ok so I just finished reading your whole blog! It brought tears and laughter! I hope it's ok to add you to my own blog list. I feel honored to read about a woman chosen to be refined in a fire so hot. You are amazing!

I love these pics of Matt, especially the one with Hunter at the piano. Thanks for sharing these photo's. I pray that you may find a little comfort looking at them, and remembering how much Matt loves you and the boys.

Love ya!
