Have you ever googled your own name?
You don't have to admit it, but I will. I have googled my name before. It's fascinating what comes up sometimes. (Except for the news footage of me talking about the accident. That is not fascinating, it is horrifying. No matter what someone else tells you, NEVER do news spots when you are 8 months pregnant with a large baby and you don't have any eye makeup on. You will regret it for the rest of your life, I promise.) Yesterday was the 4 month mark since Matt died. I like to keep up on what's being said about him out there, so I googled his name. Now before I elaborate at all about what I found, please keep in mind that in that accident 4 months ago I lost my husband, not my sense of humor.
This is what I found:

You're probably wondering why it's funny. I would be happy to tell you. It's funny because it's plagiarized! Mayor Berman (or an assistant perhaps? Let's hope?) took half of what he put in this post word for word from the obituary my brother in law wrote for Matt! Now, my dear friends, please don't go getting all up in Mayor Berman's face about it. Just laugh. In a wide-eyed-are-you-kidding-me sort of way, It's funny.
But really. Isn't there a Gilbert mayoral election coming up soon?

Yes I have googled myself. I think only my maiden name brings anything up. Apparently in high school, while working at Mcdonald's, a co-worker interviewed me on something. (I am pretty sure there was some controversy going on with the Monopoly game...) Anyway, I am quoted in this VERY interesting and VERY important article. ha ha.
At first I thought the funny part was about Matt being a Gourmet Chef. I knew he could make his way around the kitchen, but Gourmet?
I actually google my name all the time since we had identity theft a few years ago, and NOTHING (I mean nothing) on me or Neil ever comes up. Not even our address or phone number. Whew!
That previous comment was from Dan... :) Although... I do remember the Paradise Pineapple Volcano Cake flop.
i can admit it. i've also "googled" myself. how else can i keep up with all the doings of my other personalities? can anyone say schizophrenia? (notice i didn't ask if anyone can spell it. i'm sure it's incorrect. can't anyone put spell-check on these comment boxes?)
I have googled myself and chris... I'll admit. Looks like you're not the only one out there! That is funny about the blog post though. He could have gotten kicked out of school for something like that... why not get kicked out of office?? :) ha ha I too was wondering if the funny part was his "gourmet chef" comment though. I never did experience the likes of Matt cuisine, but I've heard it to have been fantastic! (I don't know why that would have made the comment funny, I was just looking for what could have been funny in there...)
Yes, I HAVE googled myself. But I'll admit- sometimes I just google my first name to see how many other Shandolynnes there are out there....then I look at their picture(s) (if possible) to see what their race is. I know- I'm wierd.
The only things that come up for me are my facebook pages, and my blog, I guess my blog is famous, yea right! And what I remember about cooking was you doing most of the kitchen stuff, while Matt was in charge of the meat! Of course I am sure Daniel and Matt used to share their kitchen knowledge! I do remember a mean cup of hot chocolate using your cocomotion! YUMMY! When I saw the video, yes I found it online and Dayna emailed it to us, I cried my eyes out! I could see how hurt you felt! True it is not the best you have looked, but give yourself a break, you were 8 months pregnant and just lost your husband! Think you will always look better! And hey google yourself in a few years, who know what it will say then!
Oh, and if you type Matt in, First thing is his CD's, then it is our blog post about you guys! Then it is your news cast! So that is not bad!! Matt and you will forever be remember by his music!
Yes the gourmet chef part is funny, too. Who did he talk to who said that? And in my thinking, the title "gourmet" should probably require some culinary training.
The gourmet part made me laugh. I'll admit I LOVED his cooking and I gained at least 5 pounds that summer we stayed with you, but the last time I saw Matt he cooked a yummy dinner with partially frozen corn on the cob!
