Randomly, right before the nurse administered them, Hunter said "Seth is allergic to milk." I said, "Yes, that's right. And eggs now too." The nurse gasped and said she was so glad Hunter brought that up, because kids who are allergic to eggs can't have the flu shot--they can have near deadly reactions to it. Thanks Hunter!Brendahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10974235086402443606noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8543859506186914619.post-71679019328134252132009-09-01T10:14:13.364-07:002009-09-01T10:14:13.364-07:00We used applesauce instead of eggs in our cooking....We used applesauce instead of eggs in our cooking. It works well in cake mixes, muffins, pancakes, etc.-not so much in brownies, though. Its true-it does get easier once you get used to it. The first few months takes forever at the grocery store reading labels, but you learn which brands you can use. The problem with milk allergies is it encompasses so much more than just "milk" on a label! I want to kiss that cute little face, poor baby.Erinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12771974496996703291noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8543859506186914619.post-42834770974353544042009-09-01T07:23:18.475-07:002009-09-01T07:23:18.475-07:00Have you tried giving him almond milk, or cooking ...Have you tried giving him almond milk, or cooking with it? Lily has a classmate, this year and last year, who is allergic to nuts, wheat, and dairy. Last year they tested him and he has outgrown the milk allergy. That means he gets to be at the regular allergy table at lunch, not his own extra special table where the kids had to practically walk through a milk scanner! Poor kid.Laurihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01652957580019258454noreply@blogger.com
